Mutation 43extreme

Laser Dance

After every 8 moves, a rank or file charges for 2 moves, then removes every piece on that line. The cycle repeats every 8 moves. Only the side allowed to see it sees the line and countdown.

Fragile Queen

At match start, the affected side’s original queen can move or capture only up to 2 squares in a straight line or diagonal. It cannot attack or give check farther away. The limit lasts for the whole match; promoted queens are unaffected.

Frozen Piece

After your 6th move, one non-king piece on the affected side freezes for the rest of the match. It cannot move, capture, attack, defend, or give check. It remains on the board and blocks lines; normal moves cannot capture it.

Magma Burst

After every 7 moves, a warning marks a square. It erupts after 3 more moves, removes any piece there, and leaves lava that destroys pieces landing there later. The next warning waits until the current one erupts.

Missing Knights

At match start, one knight is removed from the affected side.

Sacred Square

After your 6th move, two empty squares become sacred. The affected side can pass through them but cannot land on or capture on them. The other side uses them normally.
